So I'm sitting at work just got done packing ebay stuff....and just looking around the web a bit....and I'm playing Pearl Jam Vs.
This album really reminds me of an amazing time....I remember leaving Beattie Tech with Ed Jason and Neil and running to NRM before heading to afternoon classes JUST TO GET THIS ALBUM. I remember they had to versions....the jewel case and the NEW case. ofcourse i snagged the new case....it was pretty sweet looking the way it was cardboard only plastic was around the edges and inside to keep everything snug. I'm sure alot of you know the cases I'm talking about. But what I really need to address is the amazement it think we all felt with the tracks the first time we heard them. For some reason they haunt me to this day. I don't know what it is about this album that was/is so important to me... I think its one of the first albums we all anticipated together, i bought with good friends, and listened to it repeatedly together. We all had our favorite songs on it but all loved it as a whole. So many years later we have for the most part went our own ways with life...Ed and I are still the closest and hang out. Sometimes Jason, like Phil the groundhog pops his head out. And Neil well...Neil talks about hanging every now and then in a myspace message. But i think that no matter what happens, no matter what goes down, our friendships will always have this common bond this tie to this album. When we hear it we will think about each other so many years ago and the first time we all listened to this album. There are alot of other songs that we all have memories about connecting us. Radioheads-"creep" and Dinks-"Green mind" are a few of the more prominent ones....But Collectively "Vs." atleast for me is the most nostalgic album that reminds me of some of the best times of my life.
